- The school was established in 1997 by the grace and encouragement of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Al-Fahad Al-Salem Al-Sabah (The Chair of the Kuwait Voluntary Society for Community Development).
- Her Highness had a great concern to enrich the school with challenging and inspirational educational philosophy.
- The school was named by The Martyr Asrar Al Qabandi who was executed on 13/1/1991 during the Iraqi invasion in Kuwait and buried in Al-Reqa cemetery.
- She contacted the Kuwaiti political leadership outside Kuwait and followed their instructions.
- She took an honorable stand during the occupation days with the resistance groups. May God rest her soul in peace.

- تم تأسيس المدرسة في عام 1997 بفضل وتشجيع صاحبة السمو الشيخة لطيفة الفهد السالم الصباح (رئيسة الجمعية الكويتية التطوعية للتنمية المجتمعية).
- كان لدى صاحبة السمو اهتمام كبير بإثراء المدرسة بفلسفة تعليمية ملهمة ومليئة بالتحديات.
- وقد سميت المدرسة على اسم الشهيد أسرار القابندي الذي أعدم في 13/1/1991 خلال الغزو العراقي للكويت ودفن في مقبرة الريكا.
- اتصلت بالقيادة السياسية الكويتية خارج الكويت واتبعت تعليماتهم.
- لقد اتخذت موقفاً مشرفاً خلال أيام الاحتلال مع جماعات المقاومة. رحمها الله وأسكنها فسيح جناته.
