Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI) was established under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah, the late Amir of the State of Kuwait, and the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) to combat the prevalence of diabetes in Kuwait.

DDI’s Mission:

To address the diabetes epidemic in Kuwait through focused diabetes research, integrated prevention, training and education

DDI’s Vision:

To be the leading diabetes institute in the MENA region and to be recognized internationally

Proper vein identification
Adhere to lab safety and quality control measures
Ability to use Laboratory Information System
Verifies the electronic test ordered in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and proper labeling of samples with the generated barcodes
Carry out lab reception work, send out samples, and assist in placing reagents and supplies request and arranging the received items

Abide by standards of care and practice and maintain professional code of ethics
Reflect accountability for the patient, institution, profession, and self
Demonstrate and perform required therapeutic skills and patient assessment techniques that are problem focused, considering age and cultural variation and ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
Demonstrate competency in performing skills and procedures through validation of Competency in the assigned /cross trained areas
Assist physicians with procedures, as needed

Assess patients’ nutritional needs, develop and implement therapeutic diets, evaluate and report (document) results
Confer with physicians and other health care providers in order to coordinate medical and nutritional needs of patients
Counsel individuals, groups, family members and caretakers on nutritional practices designed to prevent disease and promote good health
Assist in conducting nutritional education group sessions for patients
Develop evidence – based nutrition educational material

Provide administrative support to the pharmacy unit.
Manage filing, scanning, archiving and data entry of pharmacy unit documentation.
Coordinate pharmacy clinics appointments, prescription collections, and research medications schedules if needed.
Support pharmacy meetings, schedules and correspondence as required.
Support pharmacy involvement in clinical trials and research studies.
Maintain study documentation including delegation logs, accountability logs, temperature logs and training records

إدارة حفظ الملفات، والمسح الضوئي، والأرشفة، وإدخال البيانات الخاصة بوثائق وحدة الصيدلية.
تنسيق مواعيد عيادات الصيدلية، واستلام الوصفات الطبية، والبحث في جداول الأدوية عند الحاجة.
تقديم الدعم لاجتماعات الصيدلية وجداولها ومراسلاتها حسب الحاجة.
دعم مشاركة الصيدليات في التجارب السريرية والدراسات البحثية.
الاحتفاظ بوثائق الدراسة بما في ذلك سجلات التفويض، وسجلات المساءلة، وسجلات درجة الحرارة، وسجلات التدريب.
